Just a very brief newsletter about finding little betting nuggets - this one unsurprisingly is from the world of golf and revolves around a market oft forgotten by punters and bookmakers alike - the first round leader market. Bookmakers price this up by taking the outright market - usually adding a few points to the favourites and cutting the bigger priced runners - I guess it's all done by some wonderful mathematical programme but it can throw up errors.
Take this week and the SAS Masters - sadly I can't really put this up as an official bet on the site because so few bookmakers offer the odds but if you can get on then good luck. The player in question is Russ Cochran - whilst his outright finishes at Prestonwood are pretty impressive reading 5/1/4/16 his round one stats read even better t1st, 1st, 2nd and 1st.
He is around a 20/1 shot outright but a few firms do have the round one market up - Skybet are 14/1 (ahem - guilty as charged - they were 25/1),
Victor Chandler 20/1,
Sportingbet.com.au 22/1 (win only) and I am sure a few other mainly Australian books will have the market up. Alternatively you could back him and lay back on Betfair anticipating a good start, whatever you decide to do it all kicks off around four hours time.
